Sedation
Endodontics
Sedation endodontics uses safe, controlled sedation techniques to help you stay relaxed and comfortable during your treatment. It minimizes anxiety and discomfort, allowing procedures—such as root canals and other advanced treatments—to be performed efficiently and with ease.
At Direct Endodontics Inc, Dr. Terryl Crawford is highly trained in nitrous oxide. For patients who require a deeper level of relaxation, ensuring a safe, calm, and stress-free experience.
Sedation endodontics may be especially beneficial if you:
- Experience fear or anxiety about dental treatment
- Have a sensitive or overactive gag reflex
- Do not respond well to local anesthesia
- Have a low tolerance for discomfort
- Are undergoing complex or lengthy procedures
- Have special needs or a medical condition
- Find it difficult to relax or remain comfortable in the dental chair
Types of Sedation Endodontics
Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous oxide, commonly known as “laughing gas,” is inhaled through a small mask and provides immediate relaxation. You will remain awake and responsive during treatment, but feel calm and comfortable throughout. It can be used alone or combined with other sedation methods based on your needs.
